Forum Avatar

A person who uses the Internet creates a forum avatar as a kind of alter ego. The forum avatar can come in the guise of either a three-dimensional model which is used in computer games, a photograph, the kind of avatar used on Internet forums, or a text construct found on early computer systems. A forum avatar can also be created to represent the personality of the user or be connected to a screen name. There are many things you can use as your avatar.

Another definition of a forum avatar is an online virtual body. The use of avatars may be widespread on Internet forums, but the first avatars were included in unofficial hacks before they were made standard. People who use avatars on forums use them for the purpose of representing themselves or their beliefs, interests or social status in the forum.

The majority of forums use a small avatar about 100x 100 pixels are an example. Located close to the user name, avatars are square shaped and help other users know who wrote the post without looking at the username. Of course, it seems that it wouldn’t take much effort to look at the username, but forum users may enjoy designing their own avatars which some forums allow them to do. Other forums let their users select and avatar from a preset list. There are avatars that are animated and consist of multiple images played over and over. When an avatar is animated the number of images and the time at which they are played differ greatly.

There are other avatar systems and some can be constructed according to the user’s wishes, including the use of a person’s face with customized backgrounds.
