okay the first one I understand as reference. but the second one I don’t understand how its a reference still, its just the guy doing a voice. was there really a reference?
It’s the same voice actor. The character is an evil, rich corporate tycoon who has his own dream city (Think Delta city from Robocop). He has an army of robots. He also has an assistant named Johnson. 
just because they used the same actor doesn’t mean its referencing a movie they were in

New Detroit and Oceania/The Old Man and Grant Walker(both played by O’Herlihy). Interesting connections.

Cool, I caught the Rossum/RUR and Oceania/1984 references, but didn’t realize the connection of the actors.
